FEATURES

Built around the screen.
And what comes after it.

Nightfall is a native OpenXR client. Desktop streaming is the foundation; the preview adds a browser, multiple screens and Linux PC VR.

Desktop streaming

Connect to Sunshine, Apollo, Vibepollo and other compatible GameStream hosts. Configure resolution, frame rate, bitrate and codec to suit your network and headset. HDR streams are tone mapped on Quest. USB Link offers a cable-based alternative to Wi-Fi.

Display and input

Resize, curve and position the screen. Use passthrough, a manual bezel and ambient lighting. Control the desktop with Quest controllers, a virtual keyboard and trackpad, or hand tracking. Controller mapping supports gamepad and mouse/keyboard use.

AI 3D and SBS

Generate estimated stereo depth on the headset or on your PC with Meteor. Native side-by-side content has its own SBS rendering modes. Learn the difference and the limits of AI 3D.

Browser and multiple screens — preview

Open a browser without a PC. Use tabs, bookmarks, optional history, ad-blocking controls and configurable browser resolution. Mix browser windows and captured PC monitors across up to four screens.

Extra desktop screens require monitors or virtual displays provided by the host. On-headset inference is limited to the primary screen; Meteor can separately supply depth for the desktop stream.

Linux PC VR — preview

Start a supported XR game through Meteor, then use the wristwatch to bring your desktop and settings back. Monado and xrizer are packaged with the runtime. Read the Linux PC VR setup guide.

Open-source development

Source, release notes, diagnostics and issue tracking are public on GitHub. Nightfall is licensed under GPLv3. Component and model licenses are documented in the source and release packages.
